Socio-economic adversities, unstable political conditions, poverty and strained family relations, all have contributed to the psychological problems in Pakistan, especially in our masses. A very small percentage of psychiatric units are state-owned which further amplifies the mental problems of the less privileged class.
In recognizing this need, PAF and with the generous commitment of its donor, the Soorty family, has initiated the construction for Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at JPMC which will provide quality mental health services free of charge to deserving patients.
This all-inclusive facility is spread over 4 floors:
- Expansive OPD having 17 consulting rooms
- Pharmacy with extensive psychiatric & psychological drugs
- 35 bedded psychiatric units for children & women
- 35 bedded psychiatric units for men
- 35 bedded addiction treatment units
- 10 consultant rooms
- Doctor offices
- Conference rooms
