[vc_row el_class=”clinical-page”][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”clinical-txt”]Patients’ Aid Foundation revamped the Clinical Pathology (Main Laboratory) at JPMC introducing the latest diagnostic facilities with reliable and accurate testing and reporting. The Laboratory Integrated System (LIS), installed by PAF, is not available in any government hospital in the country. Its implementation has meant bar-coded patient records and vacutainers resulting in minimal errors in reporting, maximum efficiency, and patient ease.
A state-of-the-art Emergency Laboratory, Central Phlebotomy, and a PCR Lab have been added providing round the clock services. PAF has also introduced diagnostic testing for Hepatitis B and C, helping reduce the Hepatitis epidemic in Pakistan. There is also testing for special markers and hormone analysis in the laboratory. Recently, we have added Immunofluorescence for autoimmune testing.
The Main Laboratory is the central pillar of the hospital. It provides 24 hours diagnostic laboratory services from routine to specialized test. The laboratory gives stat services with results delivered within 2-3 hours. This rapid turnaround time helps in managing patients all under one roof.
Some of the milestones achieved at the Main Laboratory:
- Establishing the Immunology lab.
- Establishing the Immunohistochemistry Section.
- Started Immunofluorescence for autoimmune testing.
- Developed totally Automated Molecular lab besides the existing semi-automated lab.
- State-of-the-art Emergency lab established with a dump lift and separate RO plant.
- State-of-the-art Phlebotomy developed with drinking water facility and public toilets.
The Main Laboratory is in a continuous state of evolution with the help of PAF, to be able to facilitate the ever-increasing number of patients and tests, with testing numbers showing a monthly increase of approximately 1,500,000 routine tests and 20,000 special tests done every month.
With the continuous support of PAF and the supportive efforts of JPMC, WHO/EMRO Center of Quality Assurance in Oman selected our Laboratory run quality assurance programme in SeroImmunology and Microbiology and rated us like 8/10. Also, our Main Laboratory achieved outstanding results in National Quality Assurance (NQAS) Scheme & EQAS (External Quality Assurance Scheme, Landon).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
